#58 A few corrections to Greentech Media Article of 10/19/11

John Petze Thu 20 Oct 2011

All of us at SkyFoundry are excited to see customers, partners and the media recognize the substantial impact that operational analytics can make to improve energy efficiency in buildings. Recently Greentech Media published an article, which discussed SkyFoundry and other companies that are improving building efficiency through the use of analytics. The Greentech Media article can be found here

The article contains a few mistakes and we want to correct those in the interest of accuracy.

Greentech Media incorrectly named Duke Energy as a SkyFoundry customer. They also attributed a dollar value for savings to them. When asked for customer names we conveyed that many customers wish to keep their results confidential. We did, however, direct them to recent articles available on-line to help with their research. In one of those articles, Duke Realty, graciously commented on the results they have achieved deploying SkySpark analytics. They did not, however, discuss numbers related to the money they have saved. The Duke Realty article is available here

We are fortunate to have many happy customers who have seen dramatic results from their deployment of SkySpark, reporting documented savings well over $2M in just the first year of deployment. And yes, there are now 1000 buildings and over 90M sq ft under continuous analytics with SkySpark (all thanks to our fantastic partners). While we would very much like to tell the world all of the details of every success story, many of our customers have requested that information about their use of SkySpark and the results they have achieved remain confidential. We respect our customer’s requests for confidentiality and value the trust they have placed in us.

SkyFoundry greatly appreciates the growing interest in the emerging field of operational analytics and believes that increased awareness will help the entire industry move forward.
